It was published originally in the May 1952 issue of "Trains" magazine, page 29. Included here is a map depicting Altoona and the Curve's location relative to Central Pennsylvania's geography. The photo by Fred McLeod depicts Pennsylvania Railroad engine #6154, a J-1 (2-10-4) "Texas" built in Juniata in December of 1943 and retired in April of 1959. |
